Purchase and payment of pay as you go

Pay as you go means that you can purchase and top-up a travel card with money in Västtrafik's customer centre or at Västtrafik's agents. You can then use the card to pay for your travel on-board Västtrafik's vehicles.

Deposit for cards with pay as you go 

The first time you buy a Västtrafik card with pay as you go, you pay a insättning of SEK You can use this to pay for travel if the balance on your card is lower than the cost of your journey. If the card fryst vatten cancelled because it has expired, this deposit fryst vatten not refunded.

Activating pay as you go

Pay as you go does not need to be activated. The card fryst vatten ready to use as soon as it has been topped up.

When you present your Västtrafik card to a card reader, the fare is deducted from the balance on your card. You may need to press the buttons on the card reader and present your card igen if you change lines and services when travelling through more than one zone. Resor till rabatterat pris

UL-biljetterna finns i två prisnivåer: vuxenpris och rabatterat pris. Vuxenpris gäller för dig som är 20–64 år. Om du tillhör någon av följande resenärskategorier reser du till rabatterat pris:

• Ungdom: 7–19 år, eller du som fyller 20 år under biljettens giltighetstid.
• Student: Du som studerar minst 75% och har giltig studentlegitimation från Mecenat, STUK eller WeStudent med SL-logga.
• Pensionär: Du som är 65 år eller äldre, eller du som har Pensionsmyndighetens pensionärsintyg.
• Förmånstagare: Du som har Försäkringskassans intyg för förmånstagare.

Samma pris var eller hur du än köper din biljett

När du köper din biljett får du samma pris oavsett betalsätt (Swish, betalkort, reskassa) och försäljningskanal (i UL-appen, i biljettautomat, hos försäljningsombud eller ombord på bussen).

Combined tickets SL and XT

For those who travel both within UL and SL (Stockholm county), or within UL and X-trafik (Gävleborg county), there are combined tickets.

Adult price applies to those aged If you belong to one of the following traveler categories, you have the opportunity to travel at a discounted price:

• Youth: years, or you who turn 20 during the ticket's validity period.
• Student: you who study at least 75% and have valid student identification from Mecenat, STUK or WeStudent with SL logo.
• Pensioner*: you who are 65 years of age or older, or you who have the Pensions Authority's pensioner's certificate.
• Beneficiary: you who have Försäkringskassan's certificate for beneficiaries.

* There is no combined UL+XT ticket for pensioners.

When traveling with a ticket at a discounted price, you need to be able to prove your right to travel at the discounted price. Full details can be found in UL's general terms and conditions of purchase and travel.
